The Waipu Boat and Fishing Club sits on the banks of the Waipu River where Nova Scotia Drive bridges the river. Established in 1952, the club promotes safe boating and sport and leisure fishing in Waipu and the greater Northland area.
The club hosts a range of events throughout the year including club fishing competitions, the popular "Take a Kid Fishing" annual event, social get-togethers, and the Mangawhai versus Waipu club challenge. Members can track their catches on the angler of the year leaderboard, participate in fish of the month competitions, and take part in mini competitions.
Membership welcomes everyone - for young or old, casual or serious anglers. The clubhouse is available to hire for community events and gatherings.
