Who we are
BreamBay.nz is a free, bay-wide business directory and events calendar for Waipu, Waipu Cove, Langs Beach, Ruakākā, One Tree Point and Marsden Cove, built and operated by Podium Software. References to "we", "us" or "our" mean BreamBay.nz.
What information we collect
- Account information — your name and email address when you register an account.
- Business and event listing information — details you submit about a business or event, including name, address, phone, email, website, social links and photos.
- Usage data — pages visited and general browsing activity on BreamBay.nz, collected via Google Analytics, used to understand how the site is used.
- Communications — messages you send us through the contact form.
How we use your information
- To operate your account and let you manage your listings
- To review and publish business and event submissions
- To send account and listing-related emails (welcome, confirmations, notifications)
- To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form
- To improve and develop the platform
- To comply with legal obligations
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, which may process your data:
- Google Analytics — usage/analytics tracking. Google's own privacy policy applies to data it processes.
BreamBay.nz does not currently process any payments — we don't collect or store payment card details.
Data storage
Your data is stored on servers located in New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to protect it from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about you. You may also request deletion of your account and associated data — see our Data Deletion page for instructions.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use Google Analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly.
